Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults
(RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process primarily for adults seeking Full Communion into the Roman Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist (Holy Communion). People seven (7) years or older are adults in the Church because they are of the age of reasoning and must be catechized or evangelized. This Ministry of Family Catechesis requires their parents to accompany these young people. The Process is also open to the Baptized who have not yet received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Persons baptized in other religions also participate in this process in order to make a Profession of Faith and enter into Full Communion with the Catholic Church.
